About MCYR
The International Multidisciplinary Conference for Young Researchers (MCYR) is an annual platform organized by the BioResources & Technology Division (BRT) with support from the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences (Czech University of Life Sciences Prague) dedicated to fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange, and professional development among early-career researchers. Through interactive sessions, networking opportunities, and knowledge-sharing, the conference supports the next generation of researchers in advancing science, technology, and sustainability for a better future.
Held in a hybrid format, the conference accommodates both in-person and virtual participation. Whether you attend in person or online, MCYR welcomes you to connect, engage and join the discussion. Participation in the conference is free of charge.

MCYR aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration among young researchers by providing a platform to share their work, engage in critical discussions, and explore solutions to global challenges. The conference brings together scholars from diverse fields, creating an environment that promotes in-depth exchange of ideas, meaningful networking opportunities, and the advancement of innovative research.
Scientific sessions MCYR 2025
- Climate and Sustainability
Tackles the climate crisis through interdisciplinary approaches, emphasizing circular economy strategies, sustainability, and climate change mitigation. Discussions will cover waste valorization and adaptation measures aimed at driving effective and lasting sustainable solutions.
- Technology and Innovation
Delves into the latest advancements across various technological domains, including renewable energy, artificial intelligence applications, and data science. Highlights the role of innovation in tackling global challenges.
- Plants and Agriculture
Focuses on sustainable agricultural practices, food security, agrobiology, and crop science innovations. It highlights their critical role in strengthening supply chains, advancing climate-smart agriculture, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of global food production.
- Animals and Ecology
Explores key topics in wildlife conservation, ecosystem stability, and veterinary science. It addresses biodiversity loss, animal behaviour, and the impacts of environmental changes on ecological systems.
- Society and Culture
Examines the complex interactions between human societies and cultural dynamics, encompassing gender studies, sustainable development in both rural and urban gender studies, and sustainable development in both rural and urban environments, public health and social psychology. Discussions will also explore strategies for fostering resilient societies in an evolving global landscape.
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
Deadline: 15.7.2025 31.7.2025
Submission: via the online form, which is available HERE
Language: English.
Participation: free of charge.
Abstract Requirements: All submitted abstracts should consist of a single paragraph containing 150-250 words maximum. Abstracts exceeding 250 words or falling below 150 words will not be considered.
Abstracts must provide an objective summary of the research, avoiding unsubstantiated results or exaggerated conclusions.
To be considered, submissions must meet the following structured requirements:
- Background: Contextualize the research question and highlight the study's purpose.
- Methods: Briefly describe the main methodologies or treatments applied.
- Results: Summarize the primary findings of the study.
- Conclusions: present the main conclusions or interpretations.
- Keywords: 3-5 relevant terms.
- Acknowledgements (optional): Recognize any funding, projects, or relevant support.

MCYR conference workshops
MCYR 2025 welcomes proposals for workshops, offering an opportunity to organize your own workshop, preferably in-person, but we also accept online workshops. Workshops may focus on networking within a specific topic, capacity building, project task forces, or other relevant initiatives.
To submit a proposal, please use the MCYR Workshop Template, available in the Files for Download section of the website, and send your submission via email to mcyr.info@gmail.com by August 31, 2025. Workshop files should be named using the organizer’s surname (e.g., Smith_Workshop).
A comprehensive workshop plan, including contact details, will be made available on the conference website. Further details will be discussed upon acceptance. Each workshop organizer will receive a Certificate of Recognition.
MCYR 2025 Storytelling Competition 2025
Your Research. Your Story. Your Impact.
All accepted MCYR 2025 presenters attending the conference in person are invited to join the Storytelling Competition “Your Research, Your Story”, a unique opportunity to turn your abstract into a compelling story that brings your research to life and reach audiences beyond academia.
Your 500–800 word story should highlight the broader relevance of your work and link it to one of four European projects: OSIRIS, COMUNIDAD, BIO-CAPITAL, or AgriSci-UA, covering topics such as reproducibility, satellite-supported agriculture, biodiversity financing, and agri-tech innovation.
Competition Topics
- OSIRIS – Open Science and Research Integrity: Promoting transparency, reproducibility, and trust in scientific practice through open methodologies and data sharing.
- COMUNIDAD – Geospatial Intelligence for Community Resilience: Using satellite data, AI, and mapping tools to strengthen local responses to environmental and climate challenges.
- BIO-CAPITAL – Innovative Monitoring and Financing of Biodiversity: Leveraging space-based technologies and novel tools to assess, value, and support biodiversity conservation.
- AgriSci-UA – Applied Agri-Tech Innovation and Pre-Commercial Research: Advancing early-stage technologies and applied science to support the future of sustainable agriculture.
Four winners will be selected - one per theme. Each winner will receive:
- An official certificate of achievement
- A cash prize (minimum €100)
- An exclusive gift bag
- Exposure on partner websites
- Recognition during the MCYR 2025 Opening Session

MCYR 2025 will open with a welcome address by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hynek Roubík, Dean of the Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences and Director of the BioResources & Technology Division (Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, Czech Republic).
In his keynote, Dr. Roubík will inspire early-career researchers to transform curiosity into purpose-driven, transparent, and socially relevant science. He will reflect on the importance of reproducibility, collaboration, and ethical integrity as foundations for meaningful research and personal growth.

Guidelines for oral/poster presentation
Oral Presentation: All accepted oral presentations are limited to 10 minutes of presentation time, followed by a Q&A session of 5 minutes.
Prepare your presentation using the MCYR PowerPoint Template and submit it by 1.10.2025 via e-mail at mcyr.info@gmail.com. Please use the subject line: "MCYR 2025 Presentation Submission + your surname." Make sure to name the file with your surname (see presentation template in files for download – make sure to rename the file).
Poster Presentation: Posters should be in portrait orientation with dimensions of DIN A0 (841mm x 1189mm) or DIN A0 Oversize (882mm x 1247mm). Please use the MCYR Poster Template. You are responsible for printing your poster.
Presenters must be in front of their poster during their in-person session and provide a brief introduction (maximum 5 minutes) outlining the main message. For online poster presentations, submit your poster in PDF format via email, making sure to name the file with your surname (see poster template in files for download – make sure to rename the file) by October 1, 2025, to mcyr.info@gmail.com with the subject line: "MCYR 2025 Poster Submission + your surname."
All presentations and posters must follow the MCYR 2025 Conference Guidelines to ensure clarity, consistency, and effective communication.
Certificates & Awards
Certificate of Participation: will be awarded to each participant who presents at a conference. Only presented contributions will be included in the MCYR 2025 Book of Abstracts. (Certificates will be awarded only to participants who present at the conference).
Best Presenter Awards: during the oral and poster presentations, an award will be granted to the best presenter in each session, selected by session chairs based on overall presentation and graphical design. (Only in-person presenters are eligible for this award.)

Guidelines for Visa application:
Visa information For information on visa requirements, different visa types, and the application procedure, as well as for downloading the application form, please consult the website of the Czech embassy in your country. You can check here the addresses of Czech Embassies and Consulates. General requirements According to the Schengen Agreement, tourist and business visas issued by a mission of one of the following countries are valid for travel to all other countries listed: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. However, you always have to apply at the mission of the country which is your main destination. You should file your visa application in the state of your citizenship or residency. If there is no diplomatic mission of the Czech Republic in this state, the application should be filed at a diplomatic mission which is accredited for that state (usually in a neighboring state) or at a diplomatic mission of another Schengen Area state which represents the Czech Republic in this state. Please note that the processing of a Schengen visa category C (short-term visa - for visits to the Czech Republic of up to 90 days) takes at least two weeks, and it is not possible to expedite the visa processing. Therefore, be sure to apply for a visa in time. At most Czech embassies, it is crucial to make an appointment before the necessary documents can be handed in - usually by phone, email or website booking system. Please be sure to book an appointment at least 6-8 weeks prior to the intended time of travel - in most cases, you do have to start obtaining an appointment much earlier. You will find all the necessary information on the website of the Czech embassy in your country. Please read carefully the visa application information on your Czech embassy's website before scheduling an appointment or going there. Invitation letter As organizers of the "MCYR 2025" conference, we cannot issue invitation letters. However, we can provide a confirmation letter upon request. We can either confirm the acceptance of your contribution to be presented at the "MCYR2025" conference or your registration for the "MCYR2025" conference. How to request a confirmation letter? Please contact us via email at BRT@ftz.czu.cz with the subject "Confirmation Letter MCYR 2025". Please be aware that we can only issue such letters electronically (PDF format) and cannot send a hard copy to you or the Czech embassy.
